The Owners

Frank and Joan Smith bought 10 acres of land next to Grouse Creek in the late 1970’s. Over the following year Frank built a home for them and their three children. In the 90’s the land across the creek from their home was purchased and the building of the cabins began.

Throughout the years Frank, Joan and their children Tyson, Nathan and Courtnay began clearing land and building Frank’s dream. Life got a little busy and for many years the cabins and the dream sat quietly as the family grew and changed.

As Courtnay was finishing her university degree in tourism and business she phoned her father with a wild idea, to complete a project they had started so long ago.

In 2008 Frank, Joan and Courtnay opened ‘Across the Creek Cabins’. Today Courtnay, along with her husband and son, live in Wells Gray Park and Across the Creek Cabins continues to be a family run business. With the addition of a fourth cabin in 2020 they continue to grow their dream.
